A 50/50 vape consists of 50% propylene glycol (PG) and 50% vegetable glycerin (VG). 

The PG component in e-liquids carries intense flavour and provides a strong throat hit, similar to traditional smoking.

The VG carries nicotine and flavourings, contributing to the thickness of the vapour produced.

What nicotine strength should I choose for a 50/50 e-liquid?

Finding the right nicotine strength depends on personal preference and previous smoking habits. If you were a heavy smoker (20+ cigarettes a day), go for 18mg to 20mg for a strong, satisfying hit. Smoked around 10-20 a day? A moderate strength of 10mg to 12mg may be most suitable.

Lighter smoker? 6mg may feel most comfortable. If you smoke socially, then a 0mg to 3mg strength is a great way to enjoy the flavour without too much nicotine.

Can I use 50/50 e-liquids in any device?

50/50 vape juices are super versatile and work with almost all vape kits, tanks, and coils, especially those with a resistance of 0.7ohm or higher. Unlike high VG e-liquids that need sub-ohm setups and more power, 50/50 blends keep things simple, smooth, and satisfying. Perfect for everyday vaping!

Are 50/50 e-liquids safe?

50/50 vape juices are generally considered safe options for most vapers, especially beginners, as they offer a balanced vaping experience and are compatible with a wide range of devices. Whilst it is rare for a severe reaction to 50/50 vape juice, individual sensitivities should be considered before vaping.

While vaping is considered less harmful than smoking, it's not risk-free. Nicotine can affect the brain, heart, and blood pressure. The long-term effects of vaping are still being researched.

How long does a 50/50 e-liquid last?

When unopened and properly stored, a 50/50 e-liquid has a shelf life of 1 to 2 years. However, when opened, it is best to use it within 4-6 months to maintain optimal flavour and quality.

Other factors impacting how long an e-liquid will last:

• Usage: Whilst a moderate vaper may use 10ml of e-liquid in 2 to 4 days a heavier vaper would use this amount sooner.
• Strength: Quantity of nicotine might lead to fewer puffs to satisfy cravings, thus potentially extending the lifespan of a bottle for some users
• Device type: Mouth to lung (MTL) devices with high resistance coils and shorter puffs generally prolong the life of the e-liquid compared to sub-ohm devices. Powerful devices with sub-ohm coils consume vape juice at a much faster rate than low-powered pod systems. 

For reference, a single 10ml is equivalent to about 100 traditional cigarettes.
