Vaporesso XROS 6 & XROS 6 Mini Review: The Best Pod Kits of 2026?

Vaporesso has just released two of the most anticipated pod kits of 2026 — the Vaporesso XROS 6 and the Vaporesso XROS 6 Mini. The XROS series has dominated the UK refillable pod kit market since the disposable vape ban in June 2025, and both new generations bring real, measurable upgrades over the XROS 5 line.

We've spent time with both kits at The E-Cig Store and this is our full hands-on review — covering design, performance, flavour, battery life, pods, charging and value. If you're trying to decide between the two, or upgrading from an earlier XROS device, this is the only review you need.

XROS 6 vs XROS 6 Mini: What's the Difference?

Before diving into each kit, it's worth understanding what separates the two. The XROS 6 is the full-featured "flagship" version with a colour TFT screen, button-or-auto-draw firing, adjustable wattage modes, and a larger 1800mAh battery. The XROS 6 Mini is the simpler, more compact version with no screen, no button, auto-draw only, Smart Mode wattage, and a 1600mAh battery.

Both run the same XROS pod range, both feature the new VENTURI airflow and SSS 2.0 leak protection, and both ship with COREX 3.0 mesh coil pods. Here's a side-by-side specs sheet.

Vaporesso XROS 6 Review

Design and Build

The XROS 6 keeps the slim, pocket-friendly silhouette that made the XROS series famous, but stretches the body slightly to 122mm to fit the bigger 1800mAh battery. It weighs in at around 161g — still light enough to slip into a jeans pocket without noticing. Aluminium chassis, soft-touch painted finish on most colours, and that signature flat-side, top-fill pod design.

Vaporesso has launched it in 11 colourways at debut: Cosmic Black, Abyssal Blue, Aurora Blue, Carbon Fiber Gray, Slate Black, Silk Green, Silk Gray, Silk Brown, Pearl White, Dreamy Pink, and Scorching Cloud. The matte finishes look the cleanest in person; the Silk and Aurora variants have a subtle metallic sheen.

Screen and Controls

The 0.88-inch TFT colour screen is identical to the one on the XROS 5, but the menu system has been refined. You get four power modes:

  • Smart Mode — device auto-detects your pod resistance and sets the wattage automatically. Best for beginners.
  • Normal Mode — manual wattage adjustment, useful with 0.4Ω RDL pods.
  • Power Mode — dials output up for richer flavour from the same pod.
  • Eco Mode — dials output down to extend battery life.

Five quick clicks of the fire button toggles power on/off. Triple-click swaps power modes. Long press primes the coil manually. It's the same control scheme as the XROS 5 — if you've used one before, you'll be at home immediately.

Battery & Charging

The 1800mAh battery is the headline upgrade. In testing with a 0.6Ω COREX 3.0 pod in Normal Mode, we comfortably hit two full days of moderate vaping per charge. Lighter MTL users on a 1.0Ω pod will see closer to four or five days, exactly as Vaporesso claims.

3A USB-C fast charging gets you to roughly 50% in 10 minutes. A full charge from empty takes around 35 minutes. Pass-through vaping is supported, so you can use the device while it's plugged in.

Flavour & Airflow

This is where the XROS 6 genuinely shines. The new VENTURI airflow system uses fluid dynamics to reduce the turbulence inside the airflow channel, producing a smoother, quieter inhale. Side-by-side with the XROS 5 on the same 0.6Ω pod, the difference is real — a more refined draw with noticeably crisper flavour separation, especially with fruit-forward bar salt profiles.

The COREX 3.0 mesh has been upgraded with what Vaporesso calls a "Hive Mesh" structure plus aerospace-grade cotton, designed to wick faster and last longer. In our testing, coils held flavour quality well past two refills, with subtle taste degradation only kicking in around the 5–7 refill mark.

The Verdict on the XROS 6

The XROS 6 is the best mainstream MTL pod kit on the UK market right now. It nails the basics — battery life, flavour, build quality — and adds genuinely useful features like VENTURI airflow and 60s Smart Prime. At £23.99, it's an absolute steal.

Pros:

  • Massive 1800mAh battery, 4–5 days of typical use
  • VENTURI airflow produces best-in-class flavour for the price
  • 60s coil priming saves time and protects coil life
  • 3A fast charging, full day of vaping from a 10-min charge
  • Full XROS pod compatibility
  • Colour screen with four genuinely useful power modes

Cons:

  • UK TPD limits pod capacity to 2ml (3ml available elsewhere)
  • Slightly taller than the XROS 5 — 122mm vs 113mm

Vaporesso XROS 6 Mini Review

Design and Build

The XROS 6 Mini retains the compact, button-free, screenless design that has made the XROS Mini one of the UK's best-selling beginner pod kits. It's slightly smaller than the full XROS 6, lighter in the hand, and prioritises simplicity over features.

The 11 launch colours include Black, Brown, and a series of "Jelly" finishes: Jelly Blue, Jelly Green, Jelly Orange, Jelly Pink and more. The Jelly variants have a slightly translucent, soft-edged look that's a clear departure from the more conventional metallic finishes on the full-sized XROS 6.

Controls and Operation

There aren't any. That's the point. You fill the pod, wait 60 seconds for Smart Prime to saturate the coil, and inhale. The device automatically detects your pod resistance and sets the wattage via Smart Mode. There's an LED indicator on the base that pulses to show charge level when you draw.

For ex-disposable users and anyone who finds refillable kits intimidating, this is the entire selling point. Zero buttons, zero menus, zero settings. Just vape.

Battery & Charging

The 1600mAh battery is a 7% bump over the XROS 5 Mini, with the same 2A USB-C fast-charging spec. A full charge takes around 30 minutes. Lighter vapers on a 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω pod will see comfortably 1.5–2 days of use. Heavy vapers on the 0.6Ω pod can expect a full day per charge.

Pass-through charging is supported — vape while it's plugged in if your battery dies and you need a quick hit.

Flavour & Airflow

The same VENTURI airflow system used in the full XROS 6 is fitted to the Mini, and it's the standout feature for a kit at this price. Combined with the COREX 3.0 mesh coils, the XROS 6 Mini punches well above its weight on flavour — noticeably better than the XROS 5 Mini and arguably the cleanest flavour we've tested from any sub-£20 refillable pod kit in 2026.

If you're stepping up from a disposable vape and using bar salts, the XROS 6 Mini gets you closer to that authentic disposable flavour profile than any other budget kit on the UK market.

The Verdict on the XROS 6 Mini

The XROS 6 Mini is, at £16.99, the best beginner pod kit you can buy in the UK right now — full stop. It strips out the complexity, keeps the upgraded internals, and delivers a flawless plug-and-play experience.

Pros:

  • Genuinely simple — no buttons, no menus, no faff
  • VENTURI airflow at a sub-£20 price
  • 60s Smart Prime makes refills painless
  • Strong battery for the form factor (1600mAh)
  • Fully compatible with all COREX 3.0 pods
  • Beautiful Jelly colour options

Cons:

  • No screen — you can't manually tweak wattage
  • 2A charging is slower than the full-sized XROS 6's 3A
  • No fire button — strict auto-draw only (some users prefer button firing)

  • You sometimes use the 0.4Ω RDL pod and need adjustable wattage

  • You like the more compact form factor and Jelly finishes

What About the October 2026 Vape Tax?

The UK government's new vape tax takes effect October 2026 and applies to every millilitre of e-liquid sold. Crucially, the tax does not apply to vape hardware — so neither the XROS 6 nor the XROS 6 Mini will see a price hike from the tax itself. However, the e-liquids and refill pods you use will increase in cost.

At The E-Cig Store, we're guaranteeing our pre-tax pricing on all own-brand e-liquids until April 2027 — a six-month grace period for our customers. If you're buying an XROS 6 or XROS 6 Mini, it's worth stocking up on nic salts and bar salts at current pricing while you can.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the XROS 6 better than the XROS 6 Mini?

It depends on what you want. The XROS 6 is more powerful and feature-rich — better for advanced users who want manual control. The XROS 6 Mini is simpler and cheaper — better for beginners and ex-disposable users who want zero complications.

Do the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini use the same pods?

Yes. Both devices use the full XROS COREX 3.0 pod range, including the 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω variants. All pods from older XROS devices (XROS 3, 4, 5, Pro and Nano) are also fully compatible.

Which is better for beginners — XROS 6 or XROS 6 Mini?

The XROS 6 Mini. No buttons, no menus, no wattage adjustment. Fill the pod, wait a minute, vape. It's as close to a refillable disposable as you can get.

Do the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini leak?

Both devices use the new SSS 2.0 leak-resistant tech with double-sealed structural design and thermal leak prevention. We saw no leaking in our testing, even after multiple drops and temperature changes. They're as leak-resistant as any pod kit currently on the UK market.

How long does an XROS 6 pod last?

The COREX 3.0 pods typically deliver 5–7 refills of solid flavour before the coil degrades. Heavy vapers using thick high-VG juice may see slightly fewer refills; MTL users on 50/50 nic salts often get more. Replacement pods are available at our COREX 3.0 pods page.

Can I use bar salts in the XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini?

Yes — the new VENTURI airflow makes both kits ideal for bar salts. For the most disposable-like experience, use a 0.8Ω or 1.0Ω pod with a 50/50 bar salt at 10mg or 20mg.

What's the warranty on the XROS 6?

All Vaporesso XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini devices sold at The E-Cig Store come with a 6-month manufacturer's warranty covering battery and chipset faults.

Final Verdict

The XROS 6 and XROS 6 Mini are both excellent kits that genuinely move the XROS platform forward. The VENTURI airflow alone is enough to make them worth recommending — it's the clearest flavour upgrade we've seen on a Vaporesso pod kit in a generation.

If you want the best XROS device available with manual control and the biggest battery, get the XROS 6 at £23.99. If you want the simplest, cheapest entry into refillable vaping, get the XROS 6 Mini at £16.99. Either way, you're getting one of the best refillable pod kits on the UK market in 2026.

Browse our full pod kits range at The E-Cig Store, and don't forget to lock in current pricing on your favourite e-liquids before the October 2026 vape tax kicks in.
